Abstract   This presentation is the analysis for the 92 cases of colorectal cancer of 3rd, 4th decade male patients who were diagnosed in department of surgery, Capital Armed Forces General Hospital during the past 8 years from January 1982 to December 1989. This retrospective analysis was performed to improve long term survival by early diagnosis k proper treatment of colorectal cancer in young age group. 1) The location of primary tumor was most frequent in rectum (46.7%) ascending colon (38%), sigmoid colon (6.5%), with decreasing frequency. 2) The most common histological type was adenocarcinoma in 94.5% and degree of histologic differentiation was poorly differentiated (44.8%), well differentiated (28.6%, moderately differentiat- ed (17.3%), mucinous carcinoma (73% 3) The distribution according to Dukes classification was as follows: Dukes'A; 7.69o DukesB; 18.4% DukesiC; 46.7% DukesD; 27.1% 4) The overall 5-year survival rate was 25.8%, According to the location of tumor, 5-year survival rate were 26.6%, in colon cancer and 20% in rectal cancer. 5) The duration of disease from onset of symptom to operation was: less than six manths in 74.9%. 6) As for the CEA level, 78 cases (84.7%) were less than 2.5 ng/ml. 7) The most common gross finding of primary lesion was infiltrating type (68.6%) and the second was fungating type (21.4%). 8) Eight patients had a family history of colarectal cancer, and five patients with farnilial polyposis and six patients with chronic constipation.
